On December 2, 2010, at 18.00, two events were held: the opening of the ASTI Gallery’s stand at the 15-th Contemporary Arts Fair ART MANEZH 2010, and presentation of ECHO, the one-man graphics and paintings album by Margarita Siourina.
Art Director of the ASTI Gallery Natella Voiskounski chaired the Opening event. She presented a large-scale project of the Gallery In Search of Paradise to the public. There were two expositions of the artists-participants of the Project at the Gallery’s stand in Bloshoy Manege: those of Vera Korshunova and Margarita Siourina.
Then, Natella Iliynichna presented ECHO Album; actually she had taken an active part in creating the Album and was in fact the editor of the publication.
Instead of welcoming words, Margarita Siourina announced to the guests that she wouldn’t say anything that day, but would write what she thought right there on the wall.
And she did as much; lines from the poem by Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava got appearing on the ASTI Gallery stand word by word:
Hands have modelled so much Beauty to console one’s heart and sight!
How can the hands compare to the sparkling dazzling light,
To the Beauty so eternal and immortal from the heights,
Heavenly temptation flow for the human soul and eyes.
The Artist suggested signing each issue of ECHO Album in the hands of the guests with Bulat Okudzhava’s lines; and that was done immediately.
After the Opening, the ASTI Gallery Project days caused obvious interest with general public and the professionals, ECHO Album was in great demand and was well received by the educated public, art critics, museum specialists and brother and sister artists – professional painters. Natella Voiskounski gave a high appraisal of STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN exposition and offered to transfer Margarita Siourina’s canvasses from Bolshoy Manezh Exhibition Hall to the ASTI Gallery to continue presentation of the exposition.
