Margarita Syurina was bom in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1969.
In 1981 she started studying painting art at an art workshop run by V.P. Tsvetkova, People's Artist of Ukraine.
In 1987 she finished Moscow Secondary Art School of Ml. Surlkov Institute.
In 1.994 she got her Diploma of V.l. Surikov State Academic Art Institute tn Moscow, where she had studied under the guidance of Tahir Salakhov, People's Artist of the USSR.
In 1999 she joined the Creative Union of Russfcm Artists.
In 2001 she'joined the Internotional Art Fund.
In 2010 she became a corresponding member of the International Academy of Culture and Art.
She is a Knight of «Art Service»-Silver Order.
Artist's works are held in M.l. Tsvetaeva House Museum in Moscow, galleries and private collections in Russia, and municipal and private collections in France, USA, Switzerland, and Sweden.

From April to May 2012 A.I. Solzhenitsyn House of Russia Abroad in Moscow hosted «Style Metamorphoses» solo exhibition of art by Margarita Syurina. It was the third exhibition of the project Leonardo's Signature dedicated to the 560th anniversary of the great Italian Renaissance artist. The project was first presented in ASTI Gallery in Mosow to run from December 2011 to January 2012. Then M. Syurlna's graphic works were shown at KHUDGRAPH-2012 Fair of Graphic Arts in New Manezh. The two first displays aroused great Interest among artists, art experts, and public.

The exhibition in the House of Russia Abroad was titled «Style Metamorphoses», because the artist had never presented her graphic sheets of the late 1990s with mirror-like texts like the entire series of the 2011—2012th for the project before. Indeed, you can see the artist’s style changing over the time - obviously it happens because of constant development of inner intellectual liberty and hand motions as overcoming of creaturehood and death.

Leonardo's Signature Project focuses on two key subjects including return to moral ideals of Renaissance and left-handed people's peculiar world-view. Almost all her graphic works feature mirror-like texts which are absolutely easy to write and read for all left-handed people and, as it turned out at exhibitions, not only for them. No wonder she uses Biblical themes - the symbols contain spontaneity of a confession which has been the most important thing for the artist over her entire career In art.

Her «Above and Under the Blue Sky» Series touches upon a philosophical opposition of the high and low, space and chaos, and destruction and creation. Margarita does not use Leonardo's style on purpose creating new original graphic art. One of the six graphic sheets of the series - a setf-portrait titled «On the Way to a Magic Garden» - is the pivot of the exposition, a way to self-improvement and self-development.

In July 2012 Marina Tsvetaeva House Museum welcomed the artist's fourth solo exhibition of Leonardo s Signature Project Margarita Syurina named the exhibition «Spiritual Metamorphoses» to draw our attention to human soul development Those who walk down the path to a magic garden need stamina and wisdom, patience and will, and ability to preserve their unique signature and multiply their talents. So let us wish this to the artist and all of us as well.
